Beck's website to feature unique collaborations

Beck 's website is undergoing an extensive overhaul next month that will feature several new sections, including "Record Club," a regular meeting of various musicians to re-record an existing album in one day, according to a press release.

Beck will then post one track per week at Beck.com. A track from the sessions also will be uploaded once a week on the websites of the artists involved in the project.

Because of the time constraints involved in recording a record in one day, an album will be chosen to be covered beforehand and used as a framework for the session; nothing will be rehearsed or arranged ahead of time.

The first album to be re-recorded by Beck's Record Club will be "The Velvet Underground & Nico."

Musicians involved in upcoming Record Clubs include Devendra Banhart, MGMT, Jamie Lidell and Nigel Godrich.
