After a nearly four-year hiatus, Better Than Ezra [ tickets ] are set to get back on the road behind the band's forthcoming album, "Paper Empire."

The US trek begins with a two-night stand May 29-30 in the group's hometown of New Orleans and continues on through the South and along the East Coast through the end of July. A couple one-off performances precede the tour's launch, including an April 26 appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The full itinerary is below.

Recorded over a two-year period in New Orleans and Los Angeles, "Paper Empire" marks the pop-rockers' seventh studio effort. The record's first single, "Absolutely Still," hit mainstream radio airwaves in mid-March.

"We're all bringing new influences into the band," singer Kevin Griffin said in a press release. "The sound has always kind of changed as we've changed, but I think that's why we continue to have success and every album has a couple of songs that do well on the radio."

"Paper Empire" follows up the band's 2005 release, "Before the Robots," which peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums and spawned the hit single, "Juicy," which landed on Billboard's Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks for 20 weeks.

The New Orleans natives broke onto the music scene in 1993 with their major label debut, "Deluxe," and its three subsequent radio hits--"Good," "In the Blood" and "Rosealia."
