Blue October plots 'Normal' fall dates
Alt-rockers Blue October have lined up new fall dates in support of their latest studio effort, "Approaching Normal," which surfaced earlier this year.
After a run of European dates later this month and early in October, the band kicks off a slate of US headlining shows Oct. 22 in Charleston, SC. The outing runs through a Nov. 21-22 engagement in Austin, TX. Dates are below.
The Austin-based rockers released their fifth studio album, "Approaching Normal," in March. The record, which was produced by Steve Lillywhite (U2, Dave Matthews Band) and recorded at Willie Nelson's Pedernales Studios, debuted at No. 13 on The Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 4 on the magazine's Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums chart.
"Steve Lillywite really challenged us to step away from ourselves and trust him and we did," frontman Justin Furstenfeld wrote late last year in a posting on the band's website.
"Approaching Normal" follows the band's 2006 release, "Foiled," which spawned the hit single "Hate Me." That cut landed at No. 2 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and garnered regular play on mainstream radio stations nationwide.
