Brand New plucks 'Daisy' for fall outing

Alt-rockers Brand New will hop on the tour bus this fall for a North American tour in support of "Daisy," their first new studio album in three years.
The Long Island-based group kicks off the outing Oct. 1 in Cleveland, OH, and continues through late November, hitting more than 35 cities during the two-month-long trek. Dates are below.
The band has set a Sept. 22 release date for "Daisy," its fourth studio album and first since 2006's "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me," which peaked at No. 31 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
"It's a pretty exhausting record," lead singer/guitarist Jesse Lacey said in a July interview with Kerrang! magazine. "It's quite dense and I think some of the decisions we made don't always go in the most obvious direction. We were thinking a lot more about what we'd want to play when we were up onstage rather than actually what you'd want to hear on a record."
The set, which was mixed by Dave Sardy (Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails), will be the band's first appearance on its own recently minted record imprint, Procrastinate! Music Traitors. The first act signed to the label, which launched last year, was New York singer/songwriter Kevin Devine, a longtime Brand New associate.
