Nearly two months after canceling the final dates of a North American tour, reportedly so that frontman Steven Tyler could undergo vocal surgery, Aerosmith [ tickets ] is preparing to return to the studio.
According to the group's publicist, the band will get back to work on a new Aerosmith number on May 20.
"[May 20 is] Armed Forces Day, and we're going in with guns ablazing!" Tyler said in a press release.

John Mayer, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers, Tab Benoit, Hothouse Flowers and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band are among the acts scheduled to appear at this year's edition of Colorado's Telluride Blues & Brews Festival.

DMX [ tickets ] (real name Earl Simmons) was arrested Saturday (5/13) in London after he allegedly refused to put on a seat belt and became abusive while on an American Airlines flight from New York to London, according to British news reports.
The rapper reportedly received a caution and was released after the plane landed at London's Heathrow Airport.
