Charges against Kanye West dropped in paparazzi incident

A Los Angeles court commissioner dropped all charges against Kanye West that arose from a confrontation with a photographer last year at Los Angeles International Airport, according to the Los Angeles Times

West was arrested in Sept. 2008 after he and his road manager, Don Crowley, reportedly confronted a photographer and smashed his camera outside a screening area at LAX. The incident caused an approximate 20-minute delay for passengers waiting to get through security. Charges against Crowley (suspicion of vandalism and battery) also were dropped.

The Los Angeles city attorney's office reportedly had filed eight misdemeanor charges, including battery, grand theft and vandalism.

The court commissioner dismissed the charges against both men on Friday (10/23).

City prosecutors opposed the dismissal, saying both defendants exhibited "felonious intent," according to the Times.
