Chris Brown starts serving community labor

Chris Brown began his community labor this week as part of his sentence for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown, sporting a typical community-service orange vest, cleared weeds and debris at police-horse stables in Richmond, VA, yesterday (9/16), according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The 20-year-old singer was sentenced in California last month to five years' probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic-violence counseling for the February attack. The sentencing judge allowed him to perform the labor and undergo counseling in Richmond, which is near his home in Montpelier.

Brown did not speak to the media while cleaning the stables but did wave to fans.
