Cirque du Soleil brings Elvis back to Las Vegas
Cirque du Soleil will debut a new Elvis Presley tribute show in December at the Aria Resort & Casino, located in MGM Mirage's new CityCenter complex.
The show, titled "Viva Elvis," is described by director Vincent Paterson as an "abstract biography" that will incorporate some "acting moments" mixed in with the traditional Cirque fusion of dance, acrobatics and live music, according to the performance company's website.
"Viva Elvis" will blend Presley's music with significant moments in his life to highlight the "essential humanity of one superstar whose name will forever be linked with the history of Las Vegas and the entire world of entertainment," according to a Cirque du Soleil announcement.
