Clint Black brings the love

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Clint Black has released "The Love Songs," which includes hits of the mushy variety from the country star's 18-year career.

Black and his wife, Lisa Hartman Black, will promote the collection Feb. 14, singing their Grammy-nominated duet, "When I Said I Do," on the Dr. Phil show. Black will follow that performance with sporadic concerts dates from mid-February through late August. Confirmed shows are listed below.

Many songs on the new album remain true to their original versions, while a few get a slight update.

"I wanted to do a record that's not just a reissue of hits," Black explained in a statement. "Sometimes when I go back and revisit my older recordings, I find little things that, in hindsight, I feel I could improve on just a bit--some new twist that might make it just a little bit better."

"The Love Songs" comprises hits including "Something That We Do," "My Imagination" and "Half the Man," along with one non-Black-penned tune, Jim Croce's "I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song."

Black's most recent studio album, 2005's "Drinkin' Songs & Other Logic," is his 11th studio set in a career that has seen a heap of accolades and platinum-selling records. It followed 2004's "Spend My Time," which marked Black's comeback after a five-year hiatus from the country music industry.

A new, full-length album of original songs is in the works for this year, according to a press release.
