Country star Clint Black [ tickets ] has added a few more dates to his "Up Close & Personal Tour," which has been making its way across the US since late August.

Since last check, shows have been added in Lowell, MA; Ridgefield, CT; Kingston, NY; and Ft. Worth, TX. The tour is currently traveling along the East Coast, with a Nov. 1 stop planned in Ontario, and will wrap next month with five dates in California. Details are listed below.

Up-and-coming country singer Laura Bryna, who is signed to Black's Equity Music Group label, is opening most of the shows. Her debut album is set to drop next month.

Black said the theater outing, which is in the process of rolling through more than 40 cities, allows him to get up close and personal with his fans.

"While it is definitely a thrill to play large venues in front of thousands of people, for me, it is an even bigger rush to perform in a setting as intimate as a theater," Black said in a posting at his website. "There's a special element added to a theater performance that is unequaled--being able to relate so closely with the audience."

Black is also playing longer-than-usual sets on the fall run, allowing him time to perform more hits and introduce several tunes from his forthcoming album, which is due this year. A sample of his latest single, "The Strong One," is streaming at his MySpace page.

Earlier this year, the Texas cowboy traditionalist released "The Love Songs," which comprises romantic hits from his 18-year career. The album includes the Grammy-nominated duet "When I Said I Do," which Black sings with his wife, Lisa Hartman Black.
