Just days after his turn on the UK's Live Earth stage, Irish singer/songwriter Damien Rice [ tickets ] has announced plans for a two-week fall tour of the US and Canada.

The singer will kick off his run Sept. 4 in Minneapolis, sweeping across the continent to complete the remainder of his 12-city outing. The full calendar is included below.

In March, Rice issued a statement that said "his professional relationship with [longtime backup vocalist] Lisa Hannigan [ tickets ] has run its creative course," and he'd asked her to leave his touring band. His group now consists of Joel Shearer (guitar), Vyvienne Long (cello), Tom Osander (drums) and Shane Fitzsimmons (bass). Long, Osander and Fitzsimmons all appeared on Rice's most recent studio album, "9."

Released last November, "9" is the singer's second album, and follows 2003's "O," which has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, according to his publicist.
