'Dancing with the Stars' sashays across the US
As the drama continues to build on the current season of ABC-TV's "Dancing with the Stars," some of the performers are looking ahead to the show's third annual tour.
"Dancing with the Stars--The Tour" is scheduled to visit 37 cities beginning Dec. 18 in Seattle. The outing will make its way from the West Coast to the East Coast, stopping in Toronto along the way and doing a two-night stand in Uncasville, CT. Details are listed below.
Tickets for all dates go on sale this Saturday (11/10). The VIP experience, which includes dance-floor seating, is available at the I Love All Access website.
Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan, whose ouster from the show last week stunned fans and judges, will join the rotating lineup of celebrities on tour, as will Wayne Newton and Marie Osmond. Former "Dancing with the Stars" champion Drew Lachey, who took over the show's co-host duties last month while Samantha Harris was on maternity leave, is among the past-season contestants to join the fold, as are Joey Lawrence and Monique Coleman.
Professional dancers Alec Mazo, Derek Hough, Brian Fortuna and Kym Johnson will perform at all shows, and Cheryl Burke, Mark Ballas, Jonathan Robers and Edyta Sliwinska will join their celebrity partners on select dates. Details about who will perform at each show can be found at the tour's website.
Those fans who have their own dreams of dancing among the stars will get their chance in cities along the trek. Before each show, local dance wannabes will compete to win The Soft Scrub Dance Challenge. Semi-finalists chosen by season-one winner Mazo will perform onstage in front of the audience, which will choose the winning couple by applause meter. The champions and their trophy will enjoy the rest of the show from victory seats.
