David Byrne [ tickets ] has lined up a run of early summer US tour dates in support of his latest collaboration with Brian Eno, which the pair released last summer.

The tour gets underway June 1 in Shelburne, VT, and currently has eight cities on the itinerary, including a June 12 appearance at Manchester, TN's Bonnaroo Festival. So far, eight June shows are booked, the last of which is set for June 24 in Seattle, but additional dates are expected. Details for the currently confirmed shows are included below

Before launching the new US leg, Byrne will spend much of the spring playing all across Europe. Those dates are posted at his website.

The Talking Heads founder and his band continue to showcase music from August's "Everything That Happens Will Happen Today," Byrne's first collaboration with Eno in 27 years. The idea for the album came about during a 2006 visit the two had after Nonesuch Records re-released the pair's 1981 collaboration, "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts," according to a press release.

"I recall Brian mentioning that he had a lot of largely instrumental tracks he'd accumulated, and since, in his words, he 'hates writing words,' I suggested I have a go at writing some words and tunes over a few of them, and we see what happens," Byrne said in a statement.

Setlists during the tour will once again feature songs from both of the Byrne and Eno albums, as well as a selection of classic Talking Heads material. "The live shows will maybe try to draw a line linking this new material with what we did 30 years ago, a little bit anyway," Byrne added.
