David Cook extends debut push into fall
Season seven "American Idol" winner David Cook has tacked more fall shows onto his in-progress run behind his self-titled debut album.
The North American excursion, which first began in June, continues Oct. 9 in Clifton Park, NY. Since last check, 14 performances have been added to the schedule, extending the outing into late November. Details are shown below.
Cook released his eponymous full-length debut last November after setting a record when, one week after he won the "American Idol" title, 11 of his songs simultaneously entered the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Digital Songs charts.
Produced by Grammy Award winner Rob Cavallo (Kid Rock, Green Day), Cook's platinum-certified debut features 13 tracks, nine of which he co-wrote with established songwriters like Chris Cornell and Brian Howes.
"When we were going through the process, I wasn't sure how we were going to tie everything together," Cook said about the debut set in a statement posted at his website. "Rob did a great job of tuning in to who I am as a person."
Late last month, Cook's single "Time of My Life" was nominated for "Song of the Year" at the Nashville Music Awards. Winners will be announced Wednesday (10/7) at a Nashville reception.
