David Gray forms tour behind 'Line'
Singer/songwriter David Gray has mapped out the North American portion of his fall world tour in support of his forthcoming new studio album.
The British performer kicks off the outing Oct. 23 in Boston, and will hit 11 cities on the trek, which concludes Nov. 9 in Los Angeles. Highlights include shows in New York City (10/24) and Chicago (10/29). Dates are below.
Gray's seventh studio album, "Draw The Line," will hit retailers Sept. 22. The self-produced set, which was recorded in London, features duets with Annie Lennox and Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Jolie Holland.
The singer's previous studio release was 2005's "Life in Slow Motion," which peaked at No. 16 on The Billboard 200, and spent two weeks in the top slot on the UK album charts.
Gray bridged the gap between studio releases by issuing three compilation albums in 2007, including "A Thousand Miles Behind," which gathered various live covers of classic rock, folk and country hits the singer has performed over the years, including three Bob Dylan tunes ("To Ramona," "One Too Many Mornings" and "Buckets of Rain") and a pair of Bruce Springsteen compositions ("Mansion on the Hill" and "Streets of Philadelphia").
