David Gray's 'World' to include North American shows
Singer/songwriter David Gray will return to North America for a handful of live dates in December as he gets in some roadwork behind a new single, a best-of album and a compilation of live covers.
The British performer's touring efforts are mostly concentrated in Europe at the moment, but Gray will carve a little space in his schedule for four shows on this side of the ocean, kicking off Dec. 2 in Toronto. New York City, Boston and Denver are the other currently scheduled stops on Gray's itinerary, all four shows coming during the first week of December.
All of Gray's North American dates are shown below. Consult the singer's official website for his overseas itinerary.
Gray's new single, "You're the World to Me," is set for a Nov. 5 release in the US. The song will appear on Gray's upcoming "Greatest Hits" album, due in the US Nov. 13.
Gray's August US release, "A Thousand Miles Behind," gathers various live covers of classic rock, folk and country hits the singer has performed over the years, including three Bob Dylan tunes ("To Ramona," "One Too Many Mornings" and "Buckets of Rain") and a pair of Bruce Springsteen compositions ("Mansion on the Hill" and "Streets of Philadelphia").
Gray's most recent full-length studio effort was 2005's "Life in Slow Motion." Yet another compilation, "Shine: The Best of the Early Years" was released in March, focusing on material from Gray's first three albums.
