DMX Arrested For Allegedly Using Fake Name

DMX , whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested in Phoenix July 19 for allegedly checking into Scottsdale's Mayo Clinic under a false name.

Police said Simmons, who was arrested at a Phoenix shopping mall, ran up a $7,500 hospital bill while being treated for pneumonia under the name "Troy Jones," according to Arizona's KNXV-TV. He also used a false social security number when he checked into the hospital.

Simmons remained in jail yesterday (7/20) and no bond had been posted, according to the sheriff's office.

DMX also was arrested earlier this month at a Phoenix airport on outstanding warrants; he was flying in from Florida where he had been arrested on drug charges.

In May, he was arrested for driving 114-miles-per-hour on a suspended license. Simmons also faces an animal cruelty charge that was brought after authorities found malnourished dogs at his home last year.
