Doves set to fly with new North American dates

U.K. pop trio Doves have announced a new lineup of North American concert dates for fall as they continue to tour in support of their most recent album, "Some Cities," released in March.

Doves will hit these shores Sept. 12 in Boston, which kicks off a month-long, 20-date trek across the continent. The tour includes stops in Austin, TX, for the Austin City Limits Festival, and a roster slot at the Across the Narrows Festival in Staten Island, NY.

The Manchester, England, band set out on an extensive U.S. tour earlier this year, which was truncated when singer/bassist Jimi Goodwin suffered vocal cord woes in April, resulting in the cancellation of several dates.

"Some Cities," which debuted at No. 1 on the British album charts, was Doves' third full-length release. Samples of several cuts from the album--including the single "Black and White Town"--are available via the band's website.
