The Antlers push 'Hospice' this fall
Indie-rockers The Antlers will mix late-summer festival appearances with club dates when they hit the tour trail later this week.
The Brooklyn trio begins the roadwork with a Sept. 12 gig at Morrison, CO's Monolith Festival, followed by stops at St. Louis's Play:STL Festival (9/17), Urbana, IL's Pygmalion Festival (9/18) and Madison, WI's Forward Festival (9/19). The indie act will finish the run on the East Coast with an Oct. 3 concert in Hoboken, NJ. Details are below.
The Antlers are touring behind their full-length debut, "Hospice," which the group self-released in March, then re-released in August on Frenchkiss Records. The video for the single "Two" is currently streaming via the band's MySpace page.
"'Hospice' was a product of sorting through a lot of dramatic, life-changing things that had happened in a very short period of time," frontman Peter Silberman said in a recent interview with Pitchfork Media. "I think 'Hospice' has a happy ending--the takeaway point is not necessarily the damage done, but the self-determination."
Fans can also download three of The Antlers' EPs--2008's "New York Hospitals," 2007's "Cold Wars" and 2007's "In the Attic of the Universe"--for free at the band's MySpace page.
