Brooklyn-based punk/dance duo Matt and Kim are known for their uber-brightness and childlike enthusiasm. Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino met in 2004 as students at the Pratt Institute and started playing at local warehouses. Their energetic shows quickly gained them a local following, and by 2006 they had a substantial web presence thanks to YouTube and MySpace. In October of that same year, they released their first full-length album, a self-titled CD.

By 2007, they were hitting the festival circuit, playing The Siren Music Festival, a couple of free concerts in New York, and capping it off at Lollapalooza. This Januaray, Matt and Kim released their second album, entitled "Grand," which was recorded in an anything but grand fashion, at the childhood home of Johnson himself.

LiveDaily photographer Christopher Owyoung attended Matt and Kim's show in New York city last weekend (3/21), and here are some of his shots.
