The "round robin" concert format is the brainchild of Dan Deacon , an artist LiveDaily writer Tjames Madison aptly describes as a "synth-rock absurdist." The D.I.Y. electronic music pioneer is certainly marching to the beat of his own drum machine.

To sum it up, the round robin set-up puts bands in a circle and the audience in the center, with the spotlights switching from band to band.

As Madison reported: "The shows--two in each city on the
itinerary--alternate between the so-called 'Eyes Night' (featuring Beach House, Jana Hunter, Wzt Hearts, Nautical Almanac, Lexie Mountain Boys and others) and 'Feet Night' (Deacon himself, along with The Death Set, Videohippos, Adventure, Future Islands and a few others), with acts in a
third grouping, 'Weird Round' (featuring, among others, Mark Brown, Showbeast and Sports Ghosts), popping up randomly throughout each evening's sets."

Three more cities remain on the tour, which wraps Saturday (10/18) in New York City.

LiveDaily contributing photographer Lyle A. Waisman attended the "Eyes Night" in Chicago on Friday (10/10) and took photos of the action.
