In January of 2008, sparked by a photo of Kate Moss dancing with frontman Justin Tranter, Vogue aptly described New York's glam-rockers Semi Precious Weapons as "unashamedly crass and deliciously animated."
Thanks to singer/songwriter Tranter's no holds barred M.O., the band has become known for its outrageous live show. More than just make-up, costumes and wild stage antics, Tranter has an impressive vocal style. He was classically trained at the Berklee College of Music, and long before that he taught himself to play piano as a child. Semi Precious Weapons' debut album, "We Love You," was produced by Tony Visconti--known for his work with David Bowie --and was released independently in 2008.
This March, LiveDaily's Christopher Owyoung attended their show at the Blender Theatre in New York City, and here are some of his photos.
