Featured Photos: Spinal Tap "Unwigged and Unplugged" in Oakland, CA - April 22, 2009

Perfectly named "Unwigged and Unplugged" the reunion tour of mock-n-roll band Spinal Tap is just that. All the wigs, spandex and platforms are nowhere to be seen, it's just the guys. Speaking of guise, the music still works sans the cliched costumes that made the group famous in the classic film “This Is Spinal Tap.”

At their packed show last night (4/22) in Oakland, CA, Christopher Guest (Nigel Tufnel), Michael McKean (David St. Hubbins) and Harry Shearer (Derek Smalls), using mostly acoustic instruments (including a didgeridoo), performed favorites such as "Hellhole," "Big Bottom" and "Stonehenge."

The tour continues across North America through the end of May. Yours truly attended the aforementioned concert, with cameras in hand. Here are some of my photos.
