Five years after forming as The Shrinky Dinks in Orange County, CA, the band that became Sugar Ray gained headway in 1997 with the single "Fly" from their second album, "Floored." Featuring reggae artist Super Cat , the song received heavy radio airplay and later was certified double platinum.

In 1999, Sugar Ray used the title of their next album, "14:59," to answer critics who said the band was a flash in the pan, implying that their 15 minutes of fame were not yet up. The point was punctuated when a single from said release, "Every Morning," reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, followed-up by "Someday" which reached No. 7. Later the album was certified triple platinum.

Fast-forward 21 years and a new Sugar Ray album, "Music for Cougars," is hitting the shelves next month. On July 24, frontman, Mark McGrath and company will kick off a 35 city tour through to September. In the meantime, here are some photos by LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder at last fall's "Now & Zen Concert" in San Francisco.
