It's official, The Pretenders are really back, performing in fine form last night (10/6) on "The Late Show with David Letterman." The band's first album since 2002, dubbed "Break Up the Concrete," hits stores today (10/7).
In 2005, The Pretenders were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Hynde joined longtime drummer Martin Chambers to attend the event. At the ceremony, Hynde thanked the original members of the group, in her speech saying "... we're paying tribute to James Honeyman Scott and Pete Farndon, without whom we wouldn't be here. And on the other hand, without us, they might have been here, but that's the way it works in rock 'n' roll."
LiveDaily's Tim Mosenfelder attended The Pretenders' show in Sacramento, CA, last August and took photos of the action on stage.
