Frank Jr., Boz Scaggs, Al Green Headline Rochester jazz fest

Boz Scaggs , Al Green , Frank Sinatra Jr., and Dee Dee Bridgewater area among the 800 artists set to perform June 13-21 at the 2008 Rochester International Jazz Festival, according to a press release. The 250 concerts that comprise 7th annual edition of the fest will be held in 15 venues in Rochester, NY's, downtown cultural district.

The RIJF performances will be presented in several series, including the Eastman Theater Headliner Series and the Club Pass Series. This year's Eastman series concerts include "Gillespiana," a tribute to Dizzy Gillespie with guests Jeanie Bryson (Gillespie's daughter), Byron Stripling, Gerry Niewood and a 21-piece jazz orchestra conducted by Jeff Tyzik.

Sinatra Jr., also is paying tribute to his famous father, performing "Sinatra Sings Sinatra," according to the release. Some of the other artists scheduled to be on hand for the 9-day festival include Medeski, Martin & Wood, The Kentucky Headhunters, The Skatalites, The Yellowjacktes, Third World and Cross Canadian Ragweed.

Three of the festival's concerts will be filmed in high definition and are expected to be screened nationwide on PBS.
