George Michael apologies for newest restroom arrest

George Michael , who was arrested in a public restroom for drug possession last Friday (9/19), has issued an apology to fans, promising to "sort himself out" after this recent run-in with the law. "I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again ... and to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them," Michael said in a statement.

The 45-year-old pop star was arrested in a north London suburb after he was found in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, according to published reports.

Michael, who recently wrapped a nearly two-year world tour, told a BBC reporter last year that his drug use has caused him to spend the past 15 to 20 years trying to derail his career. "I suffer like crazy," he said. "I've suffered bereavements and public humiliations but my career always seems to right itself like a plastic duck in the bath."

The former Wham! singer, who has hinted he may not tour again, agreed earlier this year to write a no-holds-barred autobiography in which his drug use and his 1998 arrest for engaging in a "lewd act" in a public restroom are expected to be discussed.
