George Thorogood and the Destroyers will return to the road next month, stopping by venues across the US through late summer.
The US outing kicks off June 4 in Flagstaff, AZ, hitting amphitheaters, casinos and arenas from coast to coast through late August. The 30-city trek, which includes a two-night stand in Hampton Beach, NH, wraps up Aug. 23 in Algona, IA. Details are shown below.
The blues-rock outfit, which finished up a spring run in late March and will embark on a European leg later this month, will share the stage with fellow blues musician Jonny Lang for a handful of US shows. The group continues to support its latest release, 2006's "The Hard Stuff," which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart.
In a recent interview with Billboard magazine, Thorogood discussed recording new music for an impending album.
"I have a lot of stuff in the can," the blues man said. "I just have to decide which ones are going to go on it."
The new studio effort, which is expected to surface later this year or in early 2010, will feature original songs alongside obscure covers by artists like Elvis Bishop and John Hammond, according to a press release.
"I think it will be a very groovy package and give us some life support for a couple years and let us put some new tunes in the show," Thorogood explained.
