Glen Tilbrook sets out on solo US outing behind 'Pandemonium'
Squeeze co-frontman Glen Tilbrook will embark on a late-summer and fall solo tour of the US behind his recently released album, "Pandemonium Ensues."
The British singer/songwriter will begin the journey with a Sept. 10 show in Philadelphia to benefit the Love Hope Strength Foundation, a charity that supports cancer centers. The 18-city trek, which includes two dates (Oct. 12-13) with Tilbrook's full band The Fluffers, will visit intimate clubs in major markets throughout the nation before wrapping up with a Nov. 7 performance in Bayshore, NY. Details are included below.
Tilbrook released "Pandemonium Ensues," his first solo effort since 2004's "Transatlantic Ping Pong," via E1 Music in April.
The singer, songwriter and guitarist co-founded Brit-pop act Squeeze--known for songs including "Tempted" and "Black Coffee in Bed"--in the late '70s and toured with the group for 25 years before their 1999 breakup. The outfit, which released their 12th and final studio set "Domino" in 1998, reformed in 2007 for tours throughout the US and parts of Europe.
The latest incarnation of Squeeze plans to return to the recording studio to work on a new album tentatively slated for a 2010 release, according to Tilbrook's website.
