Hit the Lights punch out inaugural headlining tour

Emo rockers Hit the Lights will launch their first headlining tour in March as the band continues to back its 2006 debut album, "This Is a Stick Up ... Don't Make It a Murder."

The Ohio band, which spent a good chunk of last year working the Van's Warped Tour, will kick off its 2007 trek March 8 in Columbus, OH. Following the homestate appearance, the group will go on to hit 31 cities in just over five weeks.

Various combinations of emocore compatriots will offer opening support during the outing, including Valencia , Just Surrender , TSH, All Time Low, Forgive Durden and Love Arcade.

Released last April, "This Is a Stick Up ... Don't Make It a Murder" recently spawned its second single. The band is currently working with director Matt Bass (Moneen, Rise Against) to produce a video for the song "Save Your Breath."

The video for the band's first single, "Bodybag," can be found through the group's MySpace site, which is also streaming several cuts from the debut album.
