Imogen Heap piles up tour dates

British singer/songwriter Imogen Heap will cross the Atlantic for a short U.S. tour in January.

The vocalist, who is also a classically trained pianist, will kick off her tour on Jan. 11 in New York. She will then perform a trio of dates in the Northeast and a pair of gigs in the Midwest. The tour is currently scheduled to end on Jan. 24 in Los Angeles. The current itinerary is listed below.

The Euro-pop star is touring in support of "Speak for Yourself," the long overdue follow-up to Heap's 1998 debut, "I Megaphone." "Speak for Yourself" debuted at No. 182 on The Billboard 200 chart upon its release in September 2005. The artist will make her first TV appearance in support of "Speak for Yourself" on Jan. 10 on "The Late Show with David Letterman."

Besides her solo career, Heap is also known for being half of the London-based duo Frou Frou (the other member is Guy Sigsworth). The duo's first release was 2002's "Details," which produced the single "Breathe In."
