Ingrid Michaelson to take 'Everybody' on the road

Ingrid Michaelson has finished work on her latest album, christened "Everybody," due for release Aug. 2 on her own Cabin 24 label. She's also unveiled a busy tour schedule that will keep her on the road into November.

Michaelson previous release, 2007's "Boy and Girls," catapulted her into radio airplay and larger venues after songs from the album landed placements on shows including "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scrubs," and the album's breakaway hit, "The Way I Am," was used in a massive "Old Navy" retail holiday campaign.

The tour behind "Boys and Girls" kept Michaelson and her band on the road through 2007 and 2008. "Be Ok," a collection of unreleased studio material, live tracks and cover songs, was released during the last leg of the tour, with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for the Stand Up To Cancer program.

In the downtime between tours, Michaelson has been prolifically tweeting her often-humorous observations of the recording process around the new album and her life in general, carrying on an ongoing dialogue with fans and followers via Twitter as well as her Tumblr blog.

Michaelson's blog occasionally debuts experimental snippets of studio silliness on the blog, such as Friday's (7/17) ditty about a bra and a recent to Twitter.

The upcoming tour kicks off in late August in the Northeast, works through the South, Southwest and West Coast before winding back through the Midwest in late October and early November.
