Jay-Z adds extension to 2010 'Blueprint'
Jay-Z has added arena dates in New York and New Jersey to the next leg of shows in support of his latest studio album, "The Blueprint 3."
The rapper, who kicks off the trek Feb. 20 in Sunrise, FL, adds appearances in Uniondale, NY, (3/12) and Atlantic City, NJ, (3/13) to the outing, which picks up early next year after Jay-Z recently scrubbed his tour schedule free of its remaining 2009 dates. Details are included to the right.
"The Blueprint 3" is Jay-Z's 11th studio album and final installment in his "Blueprint" trilogy, which began with 2001's "The Blueprint" and continued with 2002's "Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse."
The new album debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, selling close to 500,000 copies in its first week and pushing the rapper's string of top-selling albums to 11, which earned him the distinction of being the solo artist with the most No. 1 albums on Billboard's top chart, a record he previously shared with Elvis Presley.
"The Blueprint 3" follows Carter's previous studio effort, 2007's "American Gangster." That album, which was inspired by the 2007 Denzel Washington/Russell Crowe film of the same name, sold more than 400,000 copies during its first week in stores.
