Jim Brickman looks far ahead for solo dates
Pianist/composer Jim Brickman has lined up concert dates well into next spring as he continues to back a pair of albums released in 2007.
The performer, who tends to map his tours far in advance, will play a few summer shows, which kicked off last night (7/7) in Ocean City, NJ, and then set his sights further downrange, with a fall tour kicking off Sept. 18 in Harrisonburg, VA, and an early 2009 run launching Feb. 5 in Pittsfield, MA.
All of Brickman's current dates are below. Full information on ticket availability can be found at his website.
The pianist continues to support a pair of albums released last year. "Homecoming," released in September, features Brickman's collaborations with former Lonestar vocalist Richie McDonald and country singer/songwriter Victoria Shaw. A second 2007 album, "Hope," continues Brickman's string of inspirational albums with a set of instrumental-only tracks.
Brickman released his first album, "No Words," for Windham Hill Records in 1994, with the song "Rocket to the Moon" from that disc becoming the first solo instrumental ever to be ranked on the Billboard charts, according to a press release.
Four of Brickman's albums ("By Heart," "Picture This," "The Gift" and "Destiny") have been certified gold, marking sales of more than half a million copies each.
