Kittie purrs about new tour leg
Metal quartet Kittie will continue to back its latest studio album, "Funeral for Yesterday," with a new slate of US shows in April and May.
The Canadian band, which has been touring behind the new disc since just before its February release, will hit a number of new cities on the 21-date outing, which kicks off Tuesday (4/24) in Covington, KY. Full details are included below.
"The response to the new album has been overwhelming," frontwoman and guitarist Morgan Lander said in a press release. "It's been so great to take the new songs out on the road."
"The last leg of the tour went so well that we decided to extend the tour into April and May," added drummer Mercedes Lander. "We love to connect with our fans and can't wait to get back out."
Joining Morgan Lander in the lineup is her sister and group co-founder, Mercedes Lander (drums), as well as guitarist Tara McLeod and bassist Trish Doan, both of whom made their recorded debut with the group on "Never Again."
"Funeral for Yesterday"--the debut release on Kittie's newly founded label, Kiss of Infamy--was produced by Jack Ponti (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper). The set includes a companion DVD featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the recording process. A video preview of the DVD is streaming at Kittie's website.
