LiveDaily Sessions: Frightened Rabbit

The brothers Hutchison--guitarist Scott and percussionist Grant--founded the Glasgow, Scotland-based indie-rock outfit Frightened Rabbit in 2004. Since that time, the duo has grown to include guitarist Billy Kennedy and, most recently, multi-instrumentalist Andy Monaghan.

In mid-2006, the pop- and folk-inspired group released their debut album, "Sing the Greys," on their own label, Hit the Fan Records, to several rave reviews. A 2007 tour of the US--including a stop at the annual South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX--caught the attention of American fans, as well as Universal, who offered the quartet a US and UK distribution deal.

Frightened Rabbit's sophomore release, "Midnight Organ Flight," which recently hit shelves, was recorded stateside at a Connecticut studio in early 2007. The low-key rockers are currently finishing up a European outing before heading to the US for a sweeping tour with dates confirmed through late June. (Details are posted at the group's MySpace page.)
