'Love' documentary to be released in theaters, on DVD

A new documentary detailing the story behind The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil 's "Love" show at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas will open in theaters and be available to purchase on DVD in October exclusively at Best Buy and at The Love Boutique at the Mirage, according to a press release. The feature-length documentary, "All Together Now," details the partnership between George Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, who came up with the idea to pair the music of The Beatles with the artistry of a Cirque production. The early stages of the project, including the participation of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono, were all filmed for the documentary, which also chronicles the early rehearsals at the customized theater built exclusively for the show. The DVD also includes three bonus features: "Changing The Music," which reveals how the show's musical directors, George and Giles Martin, created the "Love" soundscape from original Beatles' recording sessions; "Music In The Theatre," a look at the process of creating "Love's" audio design; and "Making 'Love'," a backstage exploration of the show's design including the art direction, costumes, props, screen imagery and the use of The Beatles' voices in the stage production and soundtrack. "All Together Now," which has screened to positive reviews at a number of film festivals, will be in theaters Oct. 20 and available on DVD Oct. 21.
