Lucinda Williams [ tickets ]' upcoming tour celebrating her 30th year as a recording artist will include a pair of special three-night stands in New York and Chicago.

The first night of each engagement (Oct. 3 in NYC; Oct. 13 in the Windy City) will feature songs from 1979-1989, the second night will focus on music from 1991-2001, and the third night will spotlight music Williams has recorded since 2004. The singer will perform two separate sets each night on these special dates, the opening sets consisting of songs from a specific timeframe as listed above, and the second a more general set including music from throughout her career.

Williams will also perform a streamlined version of the anniversary shows Oct. 10-11 in Toronto, featuring songs from the first half of her career the first night, and the latter half of her career the second night. More multi-night anniversary shows will be added to her schedule in early 2010, according to a press release.

Williams' forthcoming tour kicks off Aug. 29 in Stateline, NV, and runs through an Oct. 17 show in St. Louis, MO. Dates--including the multi-night anniversary performances--are included below.

The performer's latest album, "Little Honey," hit stores last October. The 13-track set features guest appearances by Elvis Costello, Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs and bluegrass singers Jim Lauderdale and Charlie Louvin, among others, and includes William's take on AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)."
