Mannheim Steamroller unleashes bicoastal holiday run
For the first time ever, Mannheim Steamroller will divide into two troupes for a simultaneous tour of both coasts this fall and winter.
The East and West Coast treks begin Nov. 12, in Scranton, PA, and Missoula, MT, respectively. The bicoastal outing, which will touch down in 57 cities by tour's end, allows the neo-classical electronic act to canvas the nation thoroughly for the holiday season. The full schedule is shown below.
Mannheim Steamroller, founded and led by composer Chip Davis, will feature a mixture of established band members and new musicians with the new two-troupe design.
"Some of the faces will be familiar to you; some may be new to you," Davis said in a statement posted at the group's website. "I went on a big search to find the most talented, most dynamic musicians to join the band--and I found them!"
Mannheim Steamroller released two holiday records last year: "A Candlelight Christmas" and "Christmasville." Both albums snagged top spots on Billboard's Top New Age Albums chart and landed on The Billboard 200 at Nos. 68 and 48 respectively.
