Marc Broussard gets behind new album

Louisiana-based soul singer Marc Broussard has mapped out an extensive US tour to support his forthcoming Atlantic Records debut, "Keep Coming Back."
Between headline shows, festivals and a stint supporting Sara Bareilles , Broussard will be on the road through early November. He is currently wrapping a summer jaunt and will officially kick off his "Keep Coming Back Tour" Sept. 14 in Fairfield, CT. Dates include a Sept. 16 album-release party in New York City.
On Oct. 9, Broussard will join Bareilles' tour, which launches in San Diego and wraps Nov. 7 in Atlantic City. The 26-year-old soul man will also veer off for an Oct. 25 performance at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience festival. His full schedule is included below.
"Keep Coming Back," which was recorded in a whirlwind 11-day session at Nashville's historic Ocean Way Studios, is scheduled to arrive in stores Sept. 16. Broussard said the album finally meets his goal of capturing the energy of his live shows.
"None of these tunes were rehearsed," he explained in his bio. "I'd demoed most of them, whether with acoustic guitar, a drum loop with keyboards and vocals, or whatever. I'd put it up on iTunes, everybody would listen and write a chart, and then they'd get back to the studio and play. And we had a ball."
Broussard recorded the album with his road band, and eight of the 12 tracks were first takes, according to his bio. Special guest vocalists include Bareilles on the song "Why Should She Wait" and LeAnn Rimes on "When It's Good."
The title track, which serves as the record's lead single, is streaming at Broussard's MySpace page. He is scheduled to perform the tune on the Sept. 15 episode of NBC-TV's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien."
