Maroon 5 recording with 'Mutt' Lange

Maroon 5 has begun work on the follow up to 2007's "It Won't Be Soon Before Long," and is joining producer "Mutt" Lange in the studio in Switzerland this month to begin tracking new songs.

The as-yet-unnamed project will be only the third studio release in nine years for the band. "It Won't Be Soon before Long" saw two releases in the US--an original 12-track album coupled with seven bonus tracks allocated to various retailers in 2007 and a deluxe edition releases a year later with a full-concert DVD.

The band recently contributed a track to an iTunes collection in tribute to Frank Sinatra. The package, titled "His Songs, Our Way," features the Maroon 5 cover of "The Way You Look Tonight," as well as offerings from The Kills, John Rich, Meiko, Joshua Radin, A Fine Frenzy, The Kooks and others.
