Maroon 5 maps fall college campus tour

Pop-rockers Maroon 5 have lined up a tour of US college campuses this fall after emerging from a summer spent in the recording studio working on their third full-length album.

The band kicks off the trek Nov. 2 at Murray State University in Murray, KY, the first of 11 schools the group will hit during the outing, which concludes Nov. 22 in Wichita, KS. Rapper/songwriter K'Naan will offer opening support at all shows, with Guster joining the lineup for the Nov. 14 date in Lewisburg, PA. Details are included below.

Maroon 5 will be previewing material from its still-untitled third studio album, which is due in stores next spring. The group worked in Switzerland with producer Robert "Mutt" Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard) on the disc, which follows 2007's "It Won't Be Soon Before Long."

"After spending the summer in the studio recording overseas, we are excited to be returning home and to the road this fall," frontman Adam Levine said in a press statement. "It's exciting for us to hit the stage again together and also get a chance to debut some of our new material that we've been recording for our fans."

The band recently contributed a track to an iTunes collection in tribute to Frank Sinatra. The package, titled "His Songs, Our Way," features the Maroon 5 cover of "The Way You Look Tonight," as well as offerings from The Kills, John Rich, Meiko, Joshua Radin, A Fine Frenzy, The Kooks and others.
