Mastodon [ tickets ] will team up with Dethklok, the animated death-metal stars of Adult Swim's "Metalocalypse," for a fall/winter tour of North America.

The all-metal "Adult Swim Presents" outing, which kicks off Oct. 2 in Portland, OR, will touch down in 34 cities from coast to coast through mid-November, when the excursion wraps with a Nov. 19 performance in Hollywood. California-based metal acts High on Fire and Converge will open all shows. Details are included below.

The animated death-metal quintet will be brought to life with the help of co-creator/composer Brendon Small and sessions musicians Gene Hoglan, Bryan Beller and Mike Keneally, who will perform while dark-lit beneath a screen featuring all-new animation and music videos from the "Metalocalypse" series, according to a press release.

Dethklok will release its second album, "The Dethalbum II," Sept. 29 on Williams Street Records. The virtual band's debut effort, "The Dethalbum," surfaced in 2007 and debuted at No. 21 on The Billboard 200.

Grammy Award-winning Mastodon, currently in the midst of a European run alongside Metallica, continue supporting the band's March release, "Crack the Skye," which debuted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200.
