Minus the Bear take to the road after completing new album

Indie rockers Minus the Bear will head out on the road next month after finishing up work in the recording studio on the follow-up to 2007's "Planet of Ice."

The experimental Pacific Northwest ensemble will launch a 30-city headlining outing Oct. 5 in Bellingham, WA. The trek will stretch from coast to coast and then return back to the Western US in late November, winding down Nov. 28 in Boise, ID. Dates are below.

The band recently spent four months in a pair of Seattle recording studios working with producer Joe Chiccarelli (My Morning Jacket, The White Stripes) on its fourth studio album, which is set to arrive early next year. The album's first single, "Into the Mirror," hits radio airwaves Oct. 27.

"This album has more scope than the past records," guitarist Dave Knudson said in a press statement. "Some songs are more poppy and immediate while others expand on the complexities we're known for."

The new set will follow 2007's "Planet of Ice," which was co-produced by Chris Common and the group's ex-keyboard player, Matt Bayles.
