Noah and the Whale plans fall dates for 'Spring'

Indie folk-rockers Noah and the Whale have scheduled a run of North American appearances this fall to support their latest studio set, "The First Days of Spring."

The British group kicks off the outing Oct. 20 in West Hollywood, CA, and will travel to nine cities during the jaunt, which concludes with a three-night engagement in New York City beginning Nov. 2. Dates are below.

"The First Days of Spring," the band's second studio offering, surfaced in late August in the group's native UK and earlier this month in the US. The set is notable for the absence of the group's typical female vocals, particularly those of former member Laura Marling, whose break-up with lead singer Charlie Fink lays the foundation of the record's musical narrative.

The deluxe edition of the album includes a film, also titled "The First Days of Spring." A trailer for the film is available for viewing at the band's website.

"First Days" follows NATW's debut album, last year's "Peaceful, the World Lays me Down," which hit No. 5 on the UK album charts and spawned three singles: "5 Years Time," "2 Bodies 1 Heart" and "Shape of My Heart."
