Singer/songwriter and Old 97's [ tickets ] frontman Rhett Miller [ tickets ] has plotted a late-winter solo tour through the US as he continues to support his eponymous summertime release.

The Texas musician will kick off the roadwork with a short string of California gigs beginning Feb. 3 in Solana Beach, CA, after which he'll head east, visiting venues in 13 cities through a June 19 performance in Rochester, NY. Details are below.

Miller's first four upcoming dates will feature backing band The Serial Lady Killers, which includes guitarist Tommy Borscheid, bassist Greg Beshers and drummer Angela Webster. One concert with the Old 97's is on the books for Feb. 25 in Thackerville, OK, while the remaining shows will be solo acoustic performances, according to Miller's website.

The performer's self-titled fourth studio set surfaced in June and landed at No. 128 on The Billboard 200. Produced by Salim Nourallah, the album is Miller's first release on the Shout! Factory label and earned a four-star review in Rolling Stone magazine.

The Old 97's dropped thetheir seventh studio effort, "Blame It On Gravity," last year. The New West Records release peaked at No. 85 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 9 on the magazine's Top Independent Albums chart.

"To me, it's as good as anything we've ever done," Miller explained of the band's latest release during a 2008 interview with LiveDaily. "I feel like it's got the high energy that's reflective of our live show in the way that 'Too Far to Care' had."
