Outside Lands nabs Pearl Jam, DMB, Beasties
Pearl Jam , Dave Matthews Band and Beastie Boys top the lineup for the second annual edition of San Francisco's Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival.
Organizers of the three-day event, which returns to Golden Gate Park Aug. 28-30 this year, have announced a roster of almost 50 acts for the festival, which last year entertained fans on six stages spread out across the historic city park.
Other names revealed in the video announcement for the event, which can be viewed at Outside Lands' official website, include Incubus, Black Eyed Peas, M.I.A., Jason Mraz, Ween, The Mars Volta, Modest Mouse and TV on the Radio, among many others.
The complete list of performers is included below.
Tickets for the festival will go on sale April 19 at 10 a.m. PST at the event's website. A pre-sale for Visa and Visa Signature cardholders will take place April 15-18, and will include special pricing levels on three-day passes for Visa members. As they also did last year, organizers will contribute a "significant" portion of each ticket sold to the San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department.
In addition to the festival's six music stages, attendees will again have access to a wide range of food and beverage options on the event grounds, including representational slices of the San Francisco Bay Area's world-class international cuisine. The popular organic wine tent from last year will also make a return visit.
Additionally, Outside Lands will again feature the Eco Lands pavilion, including a solar-powered stage and cell phone charging station, along with an organic farmer's market and a refillable water bottle station.
"We are so proud to have introduced this vital and unique annual event to the music fans in San Francisco," Rick Farman of Superfly, the festival's co-promoter, said in a press release. "We are really excited to be back and can't wait to unveil all we're planning. The great lineup is just the tip of the iceberg."
Last year's inaugural Outside Lands event drew an estimated 150,000 people to the park, featuring a lineup highlighted by Radiohead, Beck, Jack Johnson and Tom Petty. Radiohead's show-closing appearance on the event's first day was the first nighttime concert in the park's history, according to organizers.
