Particle lays out busy concert schedule for fall

Electronic jam-band Particle has announced dates for a long road stint that should keep it busy well into October.
The group--which packs a large following for its live gigs in the tradition of Phish and The Grateful Dead--will kick off its latest outing Aug. 25 in Arcata, CA, with almost 30 cities to follow.
Particle's tightly packed fall schedule will come to a close Oct. 14 in Long Beach as part of the Xingolati Groove Cruise, a seafaring music festival also featuring The Flaming Lips and Medeski, Martin & Wood, among other acts. The full lineup can be found at the Xingolati website.
Particle's only studio album, "Launchpad," was released in March 2004. Tom Rothrock, notable for his work with Beck and Foo Fighters, produced the set.
"The Launchpad Remixes," an EP consisting of remixes derived from the title track of their debut album, was also released last year.
