Jagermeister taps Pat Green for country tour

The inaugural Jagermeister Country Tour, featuring headliner Pat Green and special guest Randy Houser , will roll out at the end of the month.

The trek is set to launch Jan. 31 in Atlanta and stop in cities including Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York City, Baltimore, Cleveland and Washington, DC, through early May. Select local acts sponsored by Jagermeister will fill the opening slots.

The outing coincides with the release of Green's new album, "What I'm For," which is scheduled to hit the streets Jan. 27. The set's lead single, "Let Me," has already been a fixture on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart for 30 weeks and currently resides in the Top 20. That song and a few others from the record are streaming at Green's MySpace page.

The Grammy-nominated performer said his ultimate mission in making "What I'm For" was to surpass the success of his gold-certified, 2003 breakthrough album, "Wave on Wave."

"If I listen to 'Wave on Wave' correctly, I'd say that I was very young writing those songs, but they were still good songs," Green said in his bio. "Now I feel like I've finally come into my own, and I want to write songs by a man, by a father, by a guy that kind of has a handle on the situation."

Green's forthcoming set follows his 2006 BNA Records debut, "Cannonball," which reached No. 20 on The Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the country albums chart.

Up-and-coming singer/songwriter Houser is supporting his November major-label debut, "Anything Goes," the title track of which is holding a Top 20 slot on the country charts.
