Pete Yorn readies new release

Pete Yorn 's new album, "Back and Fourth"--his first new studio set in three years--is scheduled for release on June 2.

Yorn, who played virtually all of the instruments on his first three albums, worked on this upcoming release with drummer Joey Waronker (Beck), pianist/arranger Nate Wolcott (Bright Eyes, The Faint, Rilo Kiley), guitarist Jonny Polonsky, bassist Joe Karnes (John Cale) and backing vocalist Orenda Fink (Azure Ray).

"That's the essential approach to the new album," Yorn said in a statement. "I wanted to share my songs with a group of players who I respected, and then share the experience of recording them together as a group."

Yorn plans to tour extensively in support of "Back and Forth." He also plans to release more new music before the end of the year.
